Pangasinan okays anniversary bonus
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — All qualified officials and employees of the provincial government of Pangasinan will each receive P3,000 as payment of anniversary bonus after Gov. Amado T. Espino approved the benefit.
This developed after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed Appropriation Ordinance No. 1-2010, which included, among others, appropriation for the payment of the employee’s anniversary bonus.
Said payment of anniversary bonus is pursuant to Local Budget Circular No. 65, dated March 3, 1997, which prescribed the rules and regulations on the grant of anniversary bonus in local government units, and Provincial Ordinance No. 143-2010, dated February 15.
It can be recalled that Espino signed the ordinance last February 15 declaring and citing April 5, 1580 as the official founding day of Pangasinan, consequently making April 5 of this year as the province’s 430th Foundation Day.
Like the employees of the municipality of Lingayen under Mayor Jonas Castaneda who received their Christmas bonus and extra gift on time, all provincial government personnel employed on a full-time or part-time basis, whether on permanent, temporary or casual status, and contractual personnel whose employment is in the nature of a regular employee, will receive the anniversary bonus, provided they have rendered one year of service at the time of the grant of the bonus.
Provincial Budget Officer Hilaria Claveria said the employees will receive the bonus before March 26 even as she said that they will be accorded such bonus every five years.
