Games Tuesday (The Arena, San Juan)
2 p.m. — Pharex vs Excelroof
4 p.m. — Ani-FCA vs Ascof Lagundi

Two of the most energetic players in the 2010 PBL PG Flex-Erase Placenta Cup will meet for the first time this Tuesday as Pharex B-Complex and Excelroof dispute the No. 1 seeding in the Final Four at The Arena in San Juan.

Pharex’s Vic Manuel and Excelroof’s Calvin Abueva are two of the reasons why their respective teams are tied for No. 1 with just one playing date left in the short single round elimination round.

Both are blessed with great leaping ability and the seemingly bottomless energy that constantly rub off on their teammates.

So when Excelroof and Pharex meet at 2 p.m., expect the two players to cancel each other out to help their respective teams clinch a twice-to-beat incentive in the next round.

Excelroof coach Ato Agustin is looking forward to an exciting showdown, especially down low.

“Napakasipag at napakaathletic na bata si (Vic) Manuel. Siya ang isang mga dahilan kung bakit tumataas ang morale ng team nila dahil kahit saan nandun siya so it’s going to be a good match-up with Calvin (Abueva),” said Agustin.

Clashing in the second game are Ascof Lagundi (3-3) and Agrinurture (Ani-FCA) with the former looking to keep its slim semifinal hopes alive with a win while the latter is seeking to avoid being the first team in 10 years to lose all of its game in a single tournament.

Manuel, an unheralded star of the PSBA Jaguars in the UCAA and NCRAA, is averaging a team-high 17.0 points and 9.3 rebounds and starred in the Fighting Maroons' 86-83 win over AddMix last Thursday to nail the first semis berth.

Two days later, it was the turn of Abueva to shine.
