Was Lotlot de Leon traumatized after working on a scene with Julio Diaz?

Lotlot and Julio are working together in the afternoon soap, “Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak,” the original movie version of which, starred Christopher de Leon, Charo Santos, Dina Donnevie and Eddie Garcia.

Lotlot plays Linda on the soap while Julio essays the role of Mateo Mantaring.

According to reports, Julio slapped the actress harder than usual in one of their scenes.

Lotlot reportedly complained about it after the take. But professional that she is, she still went on to finish her remaining scenes.

In another unrelated incident, the soap's director Maryo J. Delos Reyes' patience was said to have been tested by the actor when he came in three hours late during one taping day.

Julio was asked to report on the set at 6 a.m. He was reminded to be on time for the recent taping, as his scenes were very crucial and it will be immediately aired the next day.

The actor reported on the set at 9 a.m. He was immediately whisked off to the make-up room area and was given his lines. After which, the rehearsal was set.

Already seething in anger about Lotlot’s complaint, Maryo allegedly lashed out at the veteran actor.

But then it seems the director has forgiven Julio.

At a media gathering for the soap weeks ago, Maryo, referring to Julio, said: "everybody deserves a second chance."

Julio is among the country's versatile actors. He made hay in the '80s and '90s in a slew of movies, crossing genres including drama and action. He was among many who were sidelined by the collapse of the local movie industry. Prior to the soap, Julio had been inactive for some time.
