Anne and Sam nearly rejected pairing in new movie

With their love-hate relationship in the past, Anne Curtis and Sam Milby admitted balking at the idea of being paired anew in the movie “Babe, I Love You.”
“Yes, may hesitation [when the idea was broached to us]. Siyempre, nandoon 'yong fear to work with him again,” Anne said during the “Babe” press conference.
Sam added: “First couple of days, parang nagdududa [din] ako, but it came out a good thing. Si direk May (Cruz), kilalang-kilala niya kami. She knows us, and I think we’re very open to direk May about everything.”
Despite having doubts, the two still signed up for the project because they “owe it to the fans.”
“They’ve been waiting for this movie for so long. Ito 'yong first baby step namin. Our director is helping us out in the personal department para matuloy 'yong movie.
“It’s really a journey... I think it’s a blessing that this movie came to our life. We started on a clean slate; hindi na kami enemy,” Anne said.
The ex-couple tried to snub each other on the set during the first few days of work, as if sending the message “you don’t exist.”
“Eventually, ang sabi ni direk May, nakikita niya sa monitor 'yong mga little nuances. Direk said she thought, ‘Hmmm, magkakabalikan naman ang mga ito,’” Anne said.
But, no, they’ve not reconciled---at least, not yet.
“Never naman kaming umaamin, hindi kami super open book when it comes to that. Siguro that’s how we’d like to keep it kasi nagkaroon din ng time na masyadong naging open and it got into a lot of mess.
“So ngayon, I think it’s safe to say na kung ano’ng meron kami...what you see is what you get na lang. It’s a fresh start and who knows what will happen [next].
“It’s just safe to say that we’ll never close our doors,” Anne said.
Sam echoed Anne’s sentiments, saying, “We’re not together, but as I’ve said, we’re taking it day by day. We started on a clean slate. Kung may chance? May chance naman. Siya ang deepest love ko. I mean, ang tagal na ng relationship namin, talagang marami kaming pinagdaanan.”
“Babe, I Love You” is under Star Cinema and will hit theaters on April 13.
