74-year-old man is Cavite’s 21st shooting fatality in poll period
A septuagenarian man was shot dead last Wednesday by a still unidentified killer in front of his house in Barangay Pasong Buwaya I, Imus, Cavite, police said Thursday.
Police Officer 3 Jose Mamang, homicide investigator from the Imus Police Station, said he remains in a quandry over the murder of Baltazar G. Regulacion, 74, a tenant of one Nicasio S. Gutierrez in Barangay Maliksi, Bacoor, Cavite.
Mamang said it was a case that makes one think: “Who would want to kill a 74-year-old senior citizen?”
Regulacion, who died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds in the body, is logged in police files as the 21st fatality in a shooting incident in Cavite since the election gun ban took effect last January 10.
Mamang said they have no leads yet as to the identity of the gunman or the motive in the killing.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Primitivo Tabujara Jr., Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) acting director, ordered additional police checkpoints to curb the rash of fatal shooting incidents in the province.
