CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A Japanese man kidnapped last March 7 in his Filipino wife’s province of Bulacan was found wandering in Quezon City three days later, a belated report released Friday by Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said.

Kunimitsu Kobayashi, 57, who is married to a certain “Loida” living in Northfields Subdivision, Barangay Longos, Malolos, was abducted by three heavily-armed men while driving his Honda CRV (XJC-961) around 3 p.m. on March 7 in Barangay San Marcos, Calumpit, Bulacan.

With his family receiving no word from his abductors for three days, police got a call from a concerned citizen on March 10 that Kobayashi was wandering in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Malolos police operatives were quick to rescue Kobayashi and reunited him with his family but his Honda CRV had been taken by his kidnappers.

After undergoing medical examination, Kobayashi told investigators that his abductors took him at gunpoint and commandeered his sports utility vehicle.

Senior Inspector Armando Reyes, who led the rescue operation and follow-up investigation, said it appeared that Kobayashi was abandoned by his kidnappers in Barangay Caybiga in Caloocan City.
