TV host-actress Valerie Concepcion said that “Wowowee” main man Willie Revillame’s alleged on-air swipe at her was just an “inside joke.”

“Hindi ‘yun maiiintindihan ng mga tao kasi inside joke ‘yun sa amin. So hindi maiiintindihan kaya may mga nag-text, may mga nag-react, ganyan,” Valerie said in a recent interview aired on CinemaOne’s “Cinema News.”

A few weeks back, Willie engaged his female co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Pokwang, RR Enriquez and Valerie, in a hosting challenge. While he expressed being impressed with the first two, the last two’s performance did not particularly sit well with him.

He reportedly remarked to Valerie, “’Yan kasi, wala kang ginawa kundi kumain sa dressing room kaya ka tumataba. At saka ang dami mong dalang sapatos palagi.”

Mayet Concepcion, Valerie’s mom, was said to have been deeply hurt by the alleged humiliation that her daughter suffered from Willie.

Although Valerie confirmed that her mother was affected by the incident, she said that she has explained the matter to her.

“Sabi ko sa Mommy ko, parang hindi mo kilala si Kuya na joker talaga. Naapektuhan [siya], pero sabi ko nga sa kanya, bakit pa magpapaapekto, di ba? Parang alam naman ng lahat na nagjo-joke lang at ‘yun ang nasabi. He didn’t mean that,” she related.

Meanwhile, Valerie was startled when asked about her rumored transfer to TV5.

“Nagugulat na lamang ako tulad dun sa mga offers daw sa TV5 at sa GMA. May ganun ba? I don’t know anything about that, e, so hindi ko ma-confirm. Nagugulat ako sa mga ganun. San galing ‘yun?” she said.

Recall that Valerie starred in the series “Have Baby, Will Date” opposite TJ Trinidad on the said network two years ago. She was also a guest judge on TV5’s top-rating talent show, “Talentadong Pinoy.”

Valerie refuted rumors that she broke up with her “boyfriend”-cager, Dondon Hontiveros.

“E, kailan ba kami umamin na kami? Pa’no ko sasabihing break na kami, e, hindi naman talaga kami, 'di ba? We’re dating pero nag-decide kami na mag-lie-low muna, bawas-bawasan 'yung pagkikita kasi pareho kaming busy.

"Pero okay pa rin kami. Nagte-text pa rin kami. Nag-uusap pa rin kami,” she explained.
