Malacañang said Wednesday that there is nothing wrong with the advertisements showing the President’s legacy projects, noting that these promotional ads are not campaign propaganda.

Press Secretary Cris Icban Jr. said the Arroyo government won’t give in to the call of senatorial candidate and Akbayan party list Rep. Risa Hontiveros to dismantle President’s ads and infomercials.

“These ads are here, not in Pampanga. It won’t affect the election. It’s not election-related,” he told reporters in an ambush review after the press briefing held by the Zenarosa commission at Malacañang’s Mabini Hall.

He asked not to inject political color into the GMA ads, saying that “with or without elections,” the Office of the President will update the public about Mrs. Arroyo’s accomplishments during her nine-year administration.

“There is no intention to use these ads to campaign. With or without elections, it will in place,” Icban said. (Charissa M. Luci)
