Lakas-Kampi-CMD vice presidential bet Edu Manzano has announced that he is leaving the entertainment industry, regardless of the outcome of the May, 2010 national elections.

Manzano, former host of Kapamilya game show “Pilipinas, Game KNB?,” disclosed that he has no plans of returning to acting or hosting entertainment shows on television, saying his age requires him to focus on other things.

He said, “I do not like to be dancing the ‘Papaya’ at age 55. Hindi na rin kaya ng tuhod ko,” he said, referring to “Game KNB’s” very famous “Papaya Dance.”

He disclosed that he now prefers to host current affairs programs.

When it comes to his love life, the actor-turned-politician said that it is not his priority as of the moment. He also shared that he and his former girlfriend, news anchor Pinky Webb, are no longer talking.

Meanwhile, Lakas-Kampi-CMD senatorial candidate Atty. Raul Lambino warned that some groups may exploit the failure of elections issue being spread by administration critics to their advantage.

He said anti-government groups and even private armed goons of politicians may be emboldened to carry out their sinister plots, knowing that any activities that could affect the results of the elections will be immediately blamed on the Arroyo administration.

“If they succeed in carrying out their plans, they could easily get away with it, knowing that the administration will be tagged as the suspect because of the failure of elections and military junta issues being raised by the political wannabes,” said Lambino.

Lambino was reacting to police intelligence reports that threat groups in Mindanao are planning to sow confusion ahead of the May 10 elections.

“They should not be given any opportunity. Their success will have a big implication on the peaceful and credible conduct of this year’s elections,” he said.
