Christian Angelo Manhilot, son of actor and director Cesar Montano was found dead in their home at Yakal St., Tivoli Royale, Quezon City on the morning of March 26, ABS-CBN television program “Umagang Kay Ganda” reported.

During a phone patch interview with ABS-CBN correspondent Doland Castro, Supt. Chris Mendoza of the Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) Station 6 said that initial reports indicate that Christian’s death is a case of alleged suicide.

The 23-year-old is Cesar’s child with his first wife Marilyn Polinga.

Around 4:30-5:00 a.m. when Alicia Pancho, one of the Montano family helpers, found Christian’s body lying on the floor, with a .45 pistol near him. He smelled of alcohol, policemen say.

He was then rushed at the General Malvar Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Ed Antonio at 6:40 a.m.

According to Pancho, Christian came from Bellissimo Ristorante on Scout Castor St., which is owned by the Montano family. Security guard records also show that Christian returned to their subdivision at 2:30 a.m. riding a taxi.

Cesar was not in their house when the incident happened, as he is busy with his campaign as governor of Bohol. He was informed of the matter by Supt. Mendoza through Bayani Agbayani’s wife, Lenlen’s cellphone (Bayani and Cesar are neighbors).

As of this writing the former “Singing Bee” host is on his way to Manila. Further investigation by the QCPD is also underway.
