An unregistered motor banca recently capsized in the vicinity of Tariktik Point in Dilasag, Aurora, the Philippine Coast Guard reported Thursday.

Coast Guard Action Center in Manila disclosed yesterday that at around 1:30 p.m. of March 26, a text message was received by the personnel of Coast Guard Detachment in Dilasag from a certain Bobby de los Santos informing them that a motor banca with three fishermen on board capsized off the Tariktik Point in Dilasag.

Personnel from Dilasag detachment immediately conducted search and rescue operations using a borrowed motor banca together with local fishermen of Barangy Masagana.

The search and rescue team recovered two survivors from the vessel, namely Ruben Garcia, the boat owner, and Rex Mendoza around three miles from the shoreline of the coastal community.

The remaining boat crew identified only as a certain Efren is still missing.

As of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, search and rescue operation was terminated due to big waves and strong winds in the place. Coast Guard Puerto Real advised local residents to be on the look out for the said missing fisherman and report to the nearest Coast Guard detachment or station if sighted.
