Bangon Pilipinas senatoriable Alex Tinsay said Thursday he hopes that Filipino businessmen will hire this year's 542,000 college graduates who may have lots of potentials in helping the economy.

Tinsay cited a report by local research group IBON Foundation Inc. saying that jobs in the country will continue to be scarce and could render around 30 percent of college graduates jobless this year. His sentiment was shared by Bangon Pilipinas standard bearer Bro. Eddie Villanueva, partymate senatoriable Kata Inocencio and top dermatologist Dr. Vinzon Pineda.

Tinsay asked businessmen and the captains of the industries to open their doors for the college graduates who may have lots of potentials in helping the economy. “These graduates could be helpful in a competitive environment. They are very productive and could help rake in more clients and income for the offices,” Tinsay said.

“IBON said this means around 3 out of 10 college graduates may become jobless this year. This estimate still does not include graduates who will find jobs but may take whatever work is available even if these job openings are not related to their college degrees,” Tinsay said.
