NEC unifies branch office under NEC Phils.
NEC Philippines, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. (NEC APAC), the Asia Pacific regional headquarters of NEC Corporation (Japan), announced that it will be integrated with another NEC branch office in the Philippines - NEC Corporation Manila Branch, with immediate effect.
The new entity will retain the name of NEC Philippines, Inc. (NEC Philippines). Under the new arrangement, NEC Corporation Manila Branch, which specializes in providing carrier network solutions and services, will become a business unit of NEC Philippines. Kiyofumi Kusaka, the current President at NEC Philippines, will remain in his position to oversee the new entity.
This realignment of NEC’s operations in the Philippines is in line with the “One NEC” concept listed in the Mid-Term Growth Plan set by NEC Corporation, which seeks to realign and integrate its regional subsidiaries so as to establish a stronger presence in their respective regions, and in compliance with corporate governance policies. Asia Pacific, being one of the five key growth areas identified under this Plan, will cover nine countries including Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
“NEC aspires to stay ahead of competition, to grow beyond our boundaries and towards our Group Vision 2017 . I believe our customers in the Philippines and in this Asia Pacific region will be able to appreciate and benefit from our combined expertise, knowledge and leading technology that we bring across as a One NEC company,” remarked Kiyofumi Kusaka, President, NEC Philippines.
