Garcias, Concepcion top PUP-Bataan mock elections
MARIVELES, Bataan — Incumbent Governor Enrique “Tet” Garcia, his son, Rep. Abet S. Garcia and Mayor Jesse Concepcion topped the mock election conducted last month among students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in this town.
In the mock election conducted at PUP for national candidates, Noynoy Aquino got 52.2%, followed by Manny Villar with 28.1% votes, Gibo Teodoro with 9.2% votes; Erap Estrada 6.5 votes; Richard Gordon with 5.4% votes and Jamby Madrigal with 0.5 percent votes in the presidential race. In the vice presidential race, Mar Roxas got 45.6% votes; followed by Jejomar Binay with Loren Legarda with 26.4% votes; Bayani Fernando with 3% votes; Edu Manzano with 1% votes; and Perfecto Yasay with 0.5%.
Based on the PUP Bataan May 2010 election survey, the students were asked to vote in the questionnaire, “if the election were held today, whom would you most probably vote among the following candidates?” Although the survey paper advised that it would handle the survey with utmost confidentiality, this reporter was able to get a copy. The survey was conducted among some 300 students.
