She’s been downloaded a zillion times over the past few weeks, but the nation’s smiling sweetheart has bounced back resiliently and is as beautiful as ever since her Boracay wardrobe malfunction.

After the success of her latest film, Anne Curtis continues to sizzle this summer as the muse of Chicosci’s new music video.

The band decided to take on a different beat with their latest single “Breathe Again” and its MTV featuring Anne and directed by Bernard Dacanay serves as the perfect visual compliment.

Chicosci’s drummer Macoy Estacio says, “She definitely made the video more eye-catching and interesting. We’re lucky to have been able to work with such a beautiful and talented actress.”

Frontman Miggy Chavez explains, “We’ve taken out so much ‘fat’ in this song. We’ve been so used to a more complicated songwriting style that we opted to challenge ourselves to lessen the ‘excess’ and just keep parts that really help solidify the song.”

“It’s a back-to-basics, no-frills track,” describes guitarist Mong Alcaraz. “It’s a more mature song, both musically and lyrically compared to the others we’ve written. I think Miggy has outdone himself in writing the words to this song,” he adds.

The end result has become quite an early favorite among fans, too. Since its release, “Breathe Again” has steadily gained airplay and progressively hits music charts all over the country – already topping radio countdowns in the Philippines.

Much like the ballad itself, the video features the band in its most basic form – perfectly complemented only by lights, shadows, and playful cinematography. “We just wanted to come up with a simple video that won’t overshadow the song. We want the song to be the highlight – not the visuals. We did manage to put in a little surprise for the viewers, though,” guitarist Ariel Lumanlan shares.

Showbiz City & Kuya Germs

It’s no wonder why Quezon City has been dubbed the Hollywood of the Philippines.

QC is home to a number of the nation’s most successful movie/film outfits, the country’s top television stations are located here as well. Many prominent celebrities call this city their home and some of them, easily demonstrated in this year’s elections, even wish to parlay their fame into political success.

There’s a lot of showbiz history in this “City of Stars” and it’s about time that Quezon City and its people capitalized on this heritage of glitz and glamour!

German Moreno, better known among his countless fans as the beloved Kuya Germs, has worked his whole life in preserving and promulgating the rich history of Philippine showbiz. An icon of the local entertainment industry, Kuya Germs is the brains behind the Walk of Fame found in QC’s Eastwood City and has urged more and more Filipinos to celebrate and remember the glory and nostalgia of yesteryears as well as to promote Philippine show-business in the years to come.

Well, it looks like Filipino showbiz fanatics will be getting their wish  via Mike Defensor should things go his way this May 10th. The Quezon City mayoralty bet is envisioning the construction of a QC Movie Museum in a bid to strengthen not only the Philippine movies, but the whole entertainment industry as well. He is mulling the possibility of putting up the movie museum within the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center or the La Mesa Dam Eco-Park as an added attraction to the said places. The museum is an example of a concrete development in support of the ordinance passed by the QC Council recognizing Quezon City as the “City of Stars.”

One Happy Ride for Vios It was a happy celebration at the star-studded debut of the 2010 Toyota Vios recently held at Le Pavillon. Lined up with a refreshed design, more functional interior features, and a new 1.3 automatic transmission variant, the new Vios was rolled out in a spectacle of flashing lights and hard-hitting beats, much to the crowd’s delight.

Hosting the event were the bald and bubbly Rovilson Fernandez and radiant beauty Bianca King who brought to life the “happy” theme of the auto-launch. The two reiterated the 2010 Vios’ smart styling, riding comfort and optimum fuel-efficiency.

A perfect choice as an entry-level ride, the updated Vios has been refreshed with significant improvements in terms of style and sophistication while keeping intact its zippy performance and fuel-efficient design. With six colors to choose from (silver metallic, black, beige metallic, red mica metallic, bronze mica metallic and the new light blue mica metallic) and entering the market at only P600,000, Toyota’s 2010 Vios launch is definitely “happy” news for anyone eager to get behind the wheel!
