DAGUPAN CITY — This year’s celebration of the Bangus Festival, the biggest street party celebration in the country, will start the festivities by celebrating Children's Day .

On its Opening Day April 16, children will be parading on the street with different mascots and carnival performers, the event started with the Gilon Gilon Dance (Bangus Harvest Street Dance )

The Children's Day will open to a short children’s parade from Arellano Street to the city plaza via Perez Boulevard, with mascots from various firms and carnival performers.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, who chairs the Festival said, the event will be participated by children not only from the City of Dagupan but also had invited other nationalities who are living the city to join the festivals parade on its opening.

Among the highlights of the event is the "Festivals of the North" which will feature all festival street dancing champions in Northern and Central Luzon.

On this celebration, more balikbayans, national and local tourist will be having more fun in the 2 weeks celebration of the bangus festivals with different daily event.

And more crowd are expected to flock the Bangusan Street Party on April 30 as 10 hit bands set to provide entertainment on side fishponds of the Jose de Venecia Expressway Extension to make way for larger human traffic.

Among the scheduled events are: the Bangus Food Strip, "Pigar-pigar" Festival, Milo Sports Clinic Caravan, Mayor Al Fernandez Bowling Cup, and other sports event; Venerable Knight-Lady Veterinarians Fraternity Sorority Pet Fashion Show, Bangus Rodeo, Halo-halo Sa Malamig Festival, and many more.
