Asked what he would do that he had not done in nine years at the Philippine Senate, Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) senatorial bet former Senator Francisco “Kit” Tatad, said “it’s like asking what a teacher has not taught to his students that he has not taught before.”

This was Tatad’s answer to the query of University of the Philippines economics professor Winnie Monsod during a forum for senatorial candidates of an early morning television show.

Tatad said that he was convinced to run for senator once more even though his family was against his decision — to the point that his wife gave him the cold shoulder treatment — because he wants to help restore the integrity of the Senate.
