‘Bongbong’ scored on advice to ‘Gibo’
CABANATUAN CITY – “Look who’s talking!”
Lakas-Kampi-CMD senatorial candidate lawyer Raul Lambino issued this statement Tuesday in reaction to the advice of Nacionalista Party-Kilusang Bagong Lipunan senatorial bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to administration bet Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. to junk former president Fidel V. Ramos as among his key political advisers for alleged lack of credibility and integrity.
“His family was not only linked to alleged anomalies but also ousted from Malacañang. His parents were charged in court and there are still many pending cases against them,” Lambino said in an interview here at the Nueva Ecija Doctors’ College.
“I don’t think he (Bongbong) has the credibility of making that kind of assessment insofar as the credibility of FVR is concerned,” Lambino said.
Lambino’s senatorial bid was formally endorsed by Ramos when the former, along with other administration bets, conducted campaign sorties in several of Pangasinan and Ilocos provinces early this month.
Both Ramos and Lambino hail from the vote-rich province of Pangasinan.
Bongbong, only son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos who was ousted during the February 1986 People Power Revolution, earlier cautioned Teodoro against heeding the advice of Ramos who was accused of involvement in alleged anomalous transactions during his six-year term as the country’s leader. Ramos, who is among the founders of Lakas party, is an uncle of Bongbong from the Marcos-Valdez side.
When asked if he believes that Ramos will formally endorse Teodoro as his preferred presidential candidate, Lambino said “I believe that FVR has sympathy for Teodoro.”
“Based on statements that I heard from him (FVR), he keeps on mentioning about Gibo,” Lambino said.
Ramos earlier advised Teodoro not to be disheartened by the results of political surveys, saying that they were in the same shoes when he ran for the presidency in May 1992.
