Although he had been linked to numerous women in the past -- and in quick successions, too -- actor John Lloyd Cruz denies that he is a womanizer.

In a recent interview, the actor says the rumors are just “a matter of perception.”

“People who matter to me and people involved in these issues… they know the truth."

Cruz, who is being linked to Sarah Geronimo, Ruffa Gutierrez and most recently Shaina Magdayao, thinks the charge of womanizing is “too heavy” a tag for him.

Still, he points out, having a relationship should be normal for him since he is single. Interestingly, he neither confirms nor denies his alleged relationship with Magdayao, only to point out that "personal relationships do not keep me from producing quality films or products for my audience.”

Cruz was clear on one thing: He didn't cause Magdayao’s break up with actor John Pratts.

“I have nothing to do with it. Shaina knows it, John knows it,” he quips.

As if on cue, Cruz assures many of his fans, most of which are females, that he is not committed to anyone the moment.

Meanwhile, Cruz says he is eager to meet with Leah Salonga, the Broadway star who, just recently has expressed willingness to work with him.

Cruz admits he is “flattered” by the comment made by the "Miss Saigon" star who not only admitted a desire to work with him, but also described him as “a great actor.”

“It’s a rare experience for me [to hear a compliment from a big star]. It’s kind of daunting but it’s nice to think that I could work with [someone of her stature] in the future.”

Salonga has to wait as Cruz is still very much into Angel Locsin. It’s all work of course as Cruz and Locsin will soon star in a made for TV series.

In past interviews Locsin expressed eagerness to work with Cruz citing the many praises the actor has received for his acting.

Cruz for his part, admits to a bit of “pressure” caused by Locsin's praises.

“I hope I won’t disappoint,” says he.
