A cold front affecting Northern Luzon will bring colder weather this Sunday as the prevailing weather system is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered lights rains in Luzon.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Bernie de Leon said the prevailing cold front will affect the northern portion of Luzon.

He said the cold front is expected to bring colder weather to some parts of the country.

Meanwhile, De Leon said Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Cold front is the boundary along the leading edge of a cold air mass that is pushing out a warm air mass.

Cloudy skies brought about by a cold front are often coupled with thunderstorms and rainshowers.

In Eastern Visayas and Mindanao, mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail due to the easterly wave.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Likewise, moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
