Enrile tops Senate mock polls

Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile has topped the mock polls held among employes at the Senate while three re-electionist lawmakers failed to enter the “Magic 12.”

Enrile is running for reelection under Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), presidential candidate former Joseph Estrada’s party. He is also the incumbent Senate President.

Organized by the Samahan ng Empleyadong Nagkakaisang para sa Demokratikong Organisasyon (SENADO), the number of people that participated in the mock poll were 591 out of 1,000 rank and file employees of the Senate.

Enrile garnered 568 votes. He is followed by Serge Osmeña and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, who got 317 and 307 respectively.

They were followed by Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos , Jr. (288), Ralph Recto (255), Miriam Defensor-Santiago (223), Adel Tamano (200), Gwendolyn “Gwen” Pimentel (183), Riza Hontiveros (178), Vicente Sotto III (153), Franklin Drilon (147), and Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon (145).

Reelectionist senators Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and Manuel “Lito” Lapid fell below the top 12.

Biazon was followed by Francisco “Kit” Tatad at number 13, then Susan “Toots” Ople, Cayetano, Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, Col. Ariel Querubin, Gilbert Remulla, Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, Revilla, Liza Maza and Sonia Roco.
