Re-electionist Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto resumed campaigning Saturday after resting for three days in deference to the death of her closest politic rival, ex-Batangas Governor Arman Sanchez.

Her caravan traveled along the main thoroughfares of Batangas City, showcasing other candidates running under the Liberal Party.

Vilma, who is seeking reelection, however, does not want her visit to the wake of Sanchez to be covered by mediamen.

Her request of no media coverage was relayed by Batangas Capitol spokesperson Ginnette Segismundo.

The lady governor would not disclose when she is going to Sto. Tomas, the hometown of Sanchez, to pay her last respects to him.

Last Friday, Sanchez’s wife and incumbent Sto. Tomas Mayor Edna Sanchez declared that she would seek the gubernatorial post in place of her husband.

The 57-year-old ex-governor, who was running under the Nacionalista Party, died after being confined for a day at the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center Hospital in Lipa City due to brain hemorrhage.
