Meme from Yahoo! injects creativity and fun online
Prizes to be won as self-expression comes to life on the new content sharing platform - Meme from Yahoo!
Last week, Yahoo! Southeast Asia Pte Ltd. launched the Meme of the Week challenge aimed at promoting online creativity for users of Meme from Yahoo!. Meme is a light blogging and self-expression tool that helps people quickly share what they are interested in and passionate about — including text, photos, video, music — with the world.
The Meme of the Week challenge encourages contestants to think outside the box and post their thoughts and ideas about particular Meme topics using text and multimedia, and sharing it on the Meme site.
Aimed at promoting online creativity, the unique challenge offers Filipinos a place to develop expressive multimedia content that can be easily shared in just one click. Outstanding entries are rewarded, and Filipinos joining the online competition stand to win fortnightly prizes including an iPod nano and the grand prize — the recently launched iPad.
The Meme of the Week competition will accept entries based on popular topics including sports, travel, music and celebrity gossip. Winning Memes will be judged based on popularity, relevance and originality.
“Meme is all about sharing content that interests you and that you are passionate about. It is a simple, convenient and inventive way of self-expression. With the Meme of the Week challenge, people get a chance to tell their stories, share great ideas, and win prizes.
The competition is a novel and exciting way for people to interact and connect with their online network that we think will strike a chord with users here,’’ said Jack Madrid, country manager, Yahoo! Philippines.
