Aquino calls supporters of bro's rivals 'desperate,' 'salaried'

Though actress-TV host Kris Aquino claims “she’s had it” with her brother, presidential aspirant Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s alleged detractors, saying, " I’m fed up with them [detractors] and that I want to stab them as I am quite annoyed already,” she herself can’t help but let slip a few snide remarks against opposing parties.
At a recent press conference in Cebu City, Aquino called the Nacionalista Party of Manny Villar, "desperate" for supposedly insinuating that his brother had psychiatric problems in the past.
Aquino said that it has become “obvious” that her brother’s political enemies are “getting desperate.”
“They can’t pin anything on him…so they are now resorting to below-the-belt attacks,” she quipped.
Aquino also let loose a few choice remarks regarding the crowd supporting his cousin, Lakas-Kampi CMD presidential bet Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro Jr.
Asked to compare it to those supporting his brother, Aquino claimed said theirs weren’t organized or salaried.
“You know what, there is a big difference between organized [support] from voluntary [support]. It's different when it's from the heart, when you see [the people] out on the streets, waving anything yellow to show their support. When you know that they were not gathered and not paid to be there,” she said in mixed English and Filipino.
Aquino’s comment prompted a quick reaction from supporters of Teodoro.
The group calling themselves The Green Team, which is based on Teodoro's campaign colors, has released a statement refuting the ABS-CBN star’s allegation.
“The most recent statement of Ms. Kris Aquino towards our green team volunteers did not come as any surprise,” it said reason being that the Liberal Party as they see it is running on a campaign based on “hate and arrogance."
“We will not resort to whatever behavior their campaign has been perpetuating, but we shall defend our fundamental right to dignity and integrity as human beings,” the statement read.
It added, “[Aquino’s] statements only motivate us even more to work hard for the noble cause of electing a president who has a positive message, plan and attitude in seeking reform in this country.”
