It’s back to Hacienda Luisita for Noynoy
HACIENDA LUISITA, Tarlac – Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III will cast his ballot in the same precinct where his late mother President Corazon C. Aquino voted in the past elections.
Aquino will cast his vote at Precinct 175A in Sitio Alto, Barangay Central, San Miguel, Tarlac.
According to Aquino, who is spending a relaxing time over the weekend following a grueling 90-day campaign sortie, his security team advised him not to divulge all his plans during and immediately after the elections.
The senator from Tarlac said all he can say is that he will be closely monitoring the conduct of the elections.
“I think it will be based on reports we have from our volunteers and we expect after closing like anywhere else where local fights are hotly contested... it’s a matter of collating,” Aquino told reporters during a recent press conference.
Aquino vowed to continue the fight even after Monday’s elections have been concluded.
He said he is not being complacent despite a commanding lead over his rivals in the surveys.
A poll published on Friday put Aquino on 41 percent, more than double that of the second-place candidate.
“The bottom line... during elections until you have taken your oath of office everything is delicate especially is you are careless,” he went on.
Aquino said that until the last day of campaigning, he will try to get every vote he can “which serves as insulation factor for whatever nefarious schemes are being pushed.”
“If we have a correct counting of the votes, I think we will be very victorious,” Aquino said.
