The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Monday set a goal to all district directors, chiefs of police and station commanders in Metro Manila of “zero crime incidents in all school and university areas” during the opening of classes this year.

NCRPO Director Roberto Rosales has directed all his subordinate commanders to start implementing security plans so that crimes usually associated and committed during the opening of classes are minimized if not totally eradicated.

Rosales asked that coordination be made with school and barangay officials at this time so that security measures such as the establishment of Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in all primary and secondary schools, assignment of Beat and Mobile Patrol Officers, augmentation by members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and deployment of Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives (MASCO) are carried out with the active support and participation of the community.

He also reminded police personnel who will be tasked to man PADs to be neat and groomed, polite in dealing with those who seek their assistance and quick when called to respond to a crime incident in their assigned areas.

The NCRPO director is also set to conduct visits and inspections of PADs to check the condition in the area as well as compliance with his instructions.
