Erap to support Noynoy
The spokesperson of former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada said Wednesday that Estrada will give his full support to Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III as soon as he is proclaimed president.
“As a statesman, he (Estrada) will continue his pro-poor projects and his role as champion of the masses,” said Margaux Salcedo, spokesperson for Erap.
Salcedo also said that Estrada ran for president to continue his programs for the poor which were cut short after he was relieved from the post in 2001
“We, in the Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), hope to be able to work closely with the new administration to further implement these programs,’’ Salcedo also said.
The PMP party, Salcedo added, is leaving election-related concerns to Congress until they have done their part in canvassing the certificates of canvass (CoCs) for the presidential and vice-presidential positions. “We have been silent because we want to carefully scrutinize everything before making any statement, especially with all the rumors that have surfaced recently.” (Carlo S.
