One of the biggest organizations of lawyers in the country urged Friday president-apparent Sen. Benigno Aquino III to come out first with his plans for the country’s problems instead of repeatedly vowing to order reinvestigations into claims of fraud under the Arroyo Administration.

The National Association of Lawyers for Justice and Peace (NALJP) said what the country needs are solutions for a better life for the people.

The NALJP noted that not even one of the numerous allegations against the Arroyo Administration was ever proven in investigations by various duly-constituted bodies.

“The Senate and the House of Representatives, among others, conducted scores of probes of every allegation of wrongdoing against the Administration,” the group said.

Instead of wasting time and resources again in resurrecting unproven lies, the group said that it would be for the good of the people if the same would be spent instead on finding ways to reduce poverty.

The NALJP said among the sectors which must be prioritized are farmers and fishermen.

“Or programs that can help create jobs or livelihood opportunities, bring down prices of basic commodities or the creation of more classrooms and educational opportunities for poor but talented students,” the group said.
