The saying “what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger” seems apt for Enchong Dee, who remains unperturbed in spite of the relentless rumors about his homosexuality that continuously breed in cyberspace.

“I don’t need to hide anything. I can still post anything in my [Facebook] status, how I feel and what I think at a certain moment,” said the “Tanging Yaman” actor in an exclusive interview with Bulletin Entertainment.

As previously reported, photos and videos of Enchong with his alleged boyfriends Van Myke Burgos and fellow actor Nico Ibaviosa heated up the Internet.

Enchong has addressed the Van Myke issue in an earlier interview, saying that he doesn’t know the guy. Nico, meanwhile, is one of his close friends and teammate in the PCA Swim Team.

“I haven’t seen Nico in a while. ‘Pag ano kasi, sobrang gaguhan kami, kung ‘yun ‘yung perfect word to describe it. We’re doing it siguro kung anuman ‘yung trip nung grupo namin,” he explained.

While he assured that “secured ako na lalaki naman ako,” the 21-year old Kapamilya actor admitted that sometimes he becomes “careless.”

In the hopes for the issue to simmer down, Enchong said he has decided to be less “playful” with his buddies.

Enchong also related that he utilizes the Internet to connect with people, but not as a venue to clarify issues that beleaguer him.

“If you have a subscriber, for example in KTEXT (Kapamilya Text), I don’t think they’re the people who want to see you fall, so you don’t have to protect yourself from them. Siguro the people you need to clear things out with are the people in the Internet but then again, you can’t do that every single day,” he explained.

Those fire starters, Enchong said, just keeps fanning the flames higher. “Dire-diretso sila.

The swimming champ appealed to those who are active on the Net to “research before they judge.”

“It’s not only the system in the showbiz industry, kahit saang field. ‘Wag na tayong maghilahan. It’s time we raise each other up. Pero kung hindi mo kilala ‘yung person, too bad for the person and too bad for you because you judge him or her,” he said.

Meanwhile, Enchong defended his “Magkaribal” co-star Gretchen Barretto, who is rumored to be causing delays in their taping.

“I can say na hindi. Alam mo sa’min, sa lahat, siya ‘yung super excited to do the soap among all of us. I don’t think she’s the one causing the delay. Siguro I caused a delay kasi we were taping the last day for ‘Tanging Yaman’. Na-pack up ‘yung isang taping kasi I can’t come to the set early because inabot kami hanggang umaga,” he related.

He disproved the seemingly negative image of La Greta.

She’s very down-to-earth, she’s fun to be with,” Enchong said, and from out of the blue, blurted, “Generous pa.”
