Rosales: Unfit cops to undergo fitness program
Following the 1st Semester Graded Physical Fitness Test which he personally supervised, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Roberto Rosales said he would recommend the immediate relief and retraining of those who failed.
Those who were not allowed to take the test due to health or medical reasons may also have to undergo a fitness program, Rosales said.
Rosales said that although they still have to finalize the number of policemen who failed the fitness test, there is concern that more personnel would be included with the recommendation he submitted to the office of the Chief, Philippine National Police.
During the GPFT last 2nd Semester CY 2009 in NCRPO, 218 failed the test, 876 were considered “No go” due to health reasons, while about 800 failed to take the GPFT.
The NCRPO chief said that except for the 312 policemen about to retire, he plans to relieve all those who did not pass and those who failed to take the GPFT and subject all of them to a Physical Fitness Program aimed at developing their overall physical health to enable them to take and pass succeeding fitness tests.
“It is either the concerned policeman improves his physical health and pass the test as a responsibility to himself and to the organization or NCRPO will initiate for said policeman’s removal from the service through the attrition program,” Rosales said.
