A lone bettor from Cauayan, Isabela became P65.7 million richer for hitting the biggest Lotto 42 jackpot ever recorded in years.

Dr. Larry Cedro, spokesman of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, said the six-number combination in last Saturday’s draw was traced to a lotto outlet in Cauayan. The winning combination was 33-29-22-42-41-25.

A total P65,780,425.80 will be awarded to the lone winner who will have to claim his winnings at the PCSO main office in Quezon City.

The jackpot was the biggest ever given for Lotto 42 in more than five years now.

It took 18 draws, starting May 4 before a bettor correctly guessed the winning combination.

With only six numbers from the number series of 1 to 42 to bet on, Lotto 42 is the easiest to hit, thus, jackpot prizes are lower compared to other lotto games. Minimum jackpot is also pegged at P3 million for the first draw.

Meanwhile, Cedro revealed that Sunday’s top prize for Super Lotto 49 might breach the P90-million mark.

According to Cedro no bettor has correctly guessed the winning Lotto 49 combination for 16 draws now since May 6.

The PCSO spokesman urged the public to continue supporting the state-owned lottery agency lotto games which contributes a huge part of the income to charity, especially medical assistance for indigent Filipinos.
