If offered, Jim Paredes, Leah Navarro willing to accept government posts

While there are a few who are only too hesitant to accept the government post being offered them by the incoming Aquino administration, there are those who had expressed their willingness to do so—that is, if a proposal ever comes their way.
Semi-retired singer Leah Navarro, who had been more active in politics of late as a member of the group The Black and White Movement, is willing to accept a government post if offered by president-elect Benigno Aquino III.
Navarro believes she can be of support to Aquino.
"I believe I can help, I don't think there's anything wrong with that,” said she in an interview with ANC's “Headstart.”
“We have people in our family who are in politics, there's nothing wrong with that... I think it's the way you conduct yourself in government and in public service, that's how you define yourself. Let your history speak for yourself,” she added.
Not that she is openly pursuing the agenda. "If you are given that chance and you feel you are qualified, then by all means. This does not have to be me or anyone else."
Asked if she had already been offered a position, Navarro was blunt. “No… I haven't been asked."
Also being quite vocal about serving under Aquino is singer-songwriter Jim Paredes of Apo Hiking Society fame.
“I think now at this stage, you have to say yes when asked. That is my view,” Paredes said in a separate interview.
But he won’t be pushing for it though. The singer said he will only serve “if asked.”
“Bahala na. Whatever comes, let me give it a good, good thought then that's the time I decide…. I will not campaign for anything, I will not. I simply will not. I serve humbly if asked."
The President-elect has been drawing flak amid reports that he had been considering appointing some celebrity friends of her sister, actress-host Kris Aquino, to various government posts, including Boy Abunda, Dingdong Dantes and Ogie Alcasid.
Navarro appealed to Aquino’s critics.
"I think we should leave all the final decisions to the president. That's why precisely we voted for him. We voted for him out of faith and that faith also means that you trust his discernment, you trust his decisions.”
