The Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, former Vice President Teofisto Guingona Jr. and his son Senator-elect TG Guingona III visited President-elect Sen. Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III at his home at No. 25 Times St., in West Triangle, Quezon City, Tuesday afternoon.

Archbishop Adams, being the Apostolic Nuncio, is the ambassador of the Holy See to the Philippines. He is also the dean of the Diplomatic Corps.

The young Guingona ran and won as senator under the Liberal Party (LP) during the May 10 automated polls.

The former vice president who left the Aquino house earlier than his son refused to be interviewed by newsmen.

“My father just gave his congratulations to the new President. And they just talked about old times especially yung panahon ng tatay ko at saka panahon ni Ninoy Aquino,” the young Guingona said referring to Aquino's late father Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr.

"Purely socials. Hello, congratulations, and talk about the old times," the young Guingona said dismissing queries whether they discussed about the Senate leadership or the legislative agenda of the incoming Aquino administration.

Meanwhile, the Papal Nuncio paid Aquino a visit shortly after the Guingonas left the Aquino house.

Several heads of states, among them United States President Barack Obama, have sent their congratulatory messages to President-elect Aquino ahead of his inaugural on June 30, to be held at the Quirino Grandstand of Rizal Park, with celebrations scheduled at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Many ambassadors also congratulated Aquino for winning the presidential elections, along with vows that their respective countries will work hand in hand with the Philippines in continuing warm trade and diplomatic relations.

Local leaders and politicians, among them his colleagues in the Liberal Party, have been visiting the Times St. residence of the Aquinos since the proclamation of the senator as president-elect by the National Board of Canvassers.
