Jeson Patrombon and Mitchell Krueger of the United States continued their winning ways, blasting the American pair of Dane Webb and Nick Chappell, 7-6 (12), 6-2, to storm into the finals of the 11th Gerry Webber Junior Open in Halle, Germany.

Teaming up for the second time this year, Patrombon and Krueger sruvived a tense tie break in the opening set before stamping their class in the second to book a title showdown with second seed Dominic Thiem of Austria and Matthias Wunner of Germany.

Thiem and Wunner bucked a first-set loss to beat Germans Julian Lenz and Ralf Steinbach, 4-6, 6-3, 11-9, to book the other finals berth.

“I saw that they are moving very well at the net and communicating constantly in every point,” Patrombon’s head coach Manny Tecson said.

It was Patrombon’s best performance so far in the European circuit after unsuccessful finishes in the singles event.

In this event, Patrombon was quickly booted out in the first round against Lynn Max Kempen of Germany, 7-6 (3), 3-6, 7-5.

Before beating Webb and Chappell in semis, Patrombon and Krueger downed Jannis Kahlke and Daniel Masur, 6-4, 7-6 (5), in the quarterfinals.
