PAGASA: Expect rains on June 30
The weather bureau said on Saturday that they expect some rains on Wednesday, June 30, when President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III takes his oath as the 15th President of the Philippines at the Quirino grandstand.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that they expect isolated rain showers in Metro Manila during the historic event.
PAGASA assistant weather services chief Robert Sawi said Luzon will experience isolated rain showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
On the eve of the inauguration of President-elect Aquino, the eastern section of Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
“There is a big chance of having rains on Wednesday but the amount of rainfall will not be that significant,” Sawi pointed out.
PAGASA weather bulletin showed that Metro Manila’s temperature on Wednesday will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius and will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
He also said that there is a very minimal possibility of the formation of a tropical cyclone in the next five days.
“The protruding ridge of high pressure area (HPA) is preventing the monsoon trough in Taiwan to go southward to the direction of the Philippines,” Sawi explained.
