If there’s anything that John Prats entrusts to John Lloyd Cruz, it’s taking care of Shaina Magdayao.

“‘Yun lang naman at alam ko namang gagawin niya ‘yon,” he told “The Buzz” on June 27, his first sit-down interview since his split with Shaina in November of last year.

Just a week ago, Lloydy finally declared that he and Shaina are a couple. At that time, John was in Los Angeles, California for Sarah Geronimo’s “Record Breaker” US tour.

John claimed not feeling anything upon hearing the news.

“Parang, okay… hindi ako na-hurt o hindi ako nalungkot. Parang wala lang sa’kin,” he said.

John doesn’t expect people to believe him, but he maintained that he feels that way because he doesn’t have regrets for whatever he and Shaina had shared for almost three years.

“Natutunan ko na pag nagmahal ka, all out. Lahat ibigay mo. That’s why siguro nandito ngayon ako kasi wala akong regrets. Lahat binigay ko, lahat ginawa ko,” said the actor-dancer.

He affirmed Lloydy’s earlier statement that he had a “man-to-man” talk with him about Shaina.

“He called me… But he explained lang na hindi siya pumasok sa relasyon namin during nung kami. ‘Yun ang gusto ko pa ring paniwalaan hanggang ngayon,” he related.

John clarified that he never said anything negative against the new couple. “Never akong nagsalita, never akong nagpa-interview.”

Although he said that he doesn’t have ill feelings towards Lloydy, John admitted that “there was a time” when he got angry with his fellow Kapamilya star. “Siyempre tao ka rin eh,” he quipped.

He also said he felt uncomfortable around Lloydy, that’s why he had to move out from the dressing room they shared for years on “ASAP.” Nevertheless, he maintained they’re friends.

John also finally opened up about his break-up with Shaina. According to him, it started when they had a fight and decided to cool off, “but we never saw each other after that.”

During the trade launch of ABS-CBN last December, John is said to have left the venue crying after Shaina refused to go home with him allegedly because of Lloydy. He denied that Lloydy was the reason they had a fight that night. He wasn’t crying either. “Sad lang,” John clarified.

The Dancefloor Dynamite refused to comment on another instance wherein Shaina seemed to have lied about where she was. Reports said that Shaina told John she was at T.G.I. Friday’s when John asked her of her whereabouts. However, John is said to have discovered later on that she was at the CountrySide Restaurant with Lloydy.

After a pause, John said: “Gaya ng sinabi, ayoko na sanang...mag-…. Ayoko na eh… parang gusto ko lang talaga, move on na tayo. Happy na tayo. Kasi kahit ano pang sabihin natin ngayon, sila, kahit kani-kanino, kahit ano pang sabihin, hindi na mababalik.”

John said he still misses Shaina, whom he once believed to be “the one” for him.

“Ang mahirap kasi is waking up in the morning na wala kang tinatawagan to say ‘good morning’ and ‘I love you.’ Routine eh. Paggising mo siya, bago ka matulog siya, everyday. ‘Yun ang mahirap eh, ‘yung adjustment period na you wake up in the morning… blangko,” he related.

What he misses most about her is their coffee moments.

“Every ‘ASAP’ pagdating mo may coffee kayo together. Alam mo ‘yun, ‘yung ‘coffee, good morning…’ kasi nagkikita kayo dun na sa ‘ASAP’ eh… ‘Yun ‘yung parang ipaparamdam niya sa’yo na na-miss kita, parang one week kayong hindi nagkita pero nagkita kayo yesterday,” he recalled.

John said his heart is happy right now, because “after nung mga intense na nangyari nung past sa’kin, ngayon ko na-e-enjoy ‘yung single life.”

In spite of their painful separation, John hopes he could at least rekindle his friendship with his ex-girlfriend.

“Thank you so much for the happy moments. If may nagawa ako na nasaktan siya, I’m sorry. If puwede mo lang naman ibalik lahat… but now that everything is ganito na, lahat tayo nakapag-move on na, sana let’s just hope for the friendship. Kahit ‘yon [lang],” he said.
