James Yap to attend Noynoy’s inauguration

President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III confirmed that his brother-in-law James Yap will attend his inauguration on June 30 despite news of Yap's break-up with "First Sister," Kris Aquino.
In a report on TV5’s “Aksyon” on June 28, Aquino III said he has talked to Kris about James through text.
Minutes before the Queen of All Media sat down last Sunday with “Buzz” co-hosts Boy Abunda and KC Concepcion to announce that she has given up on her high-profile marriage with James, the popular cager himself confirmed that he will be at Noy’s induction.
“Of course,” he quipped in a taped interview aired on “24 Oras” on Monday.
However, he remains mum on his marital woes. “Alam mo naman 'pag personal diba… sana maintindihan mo,” he told GMA-7 showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas an hour after his game at the Araneta Coliseum last Sunday.
In a separate report on “TV Patrol World” on the same night, James said that he respects his wife’s decision. He also thanked his team mates and friends for their prayers.
It seems that the five-year marriage of Kris and James is heading towards a dead end, as their separation is set to be legalized soon.
Meanwhile, Kris and best friend Boy did not show up at the oath-taking of Laguna governor ER Ejercito (more popularly known as Jeorge Estregan) in Calamba on Monday. Representatives from both camps denied that their absence has something to do with Kris and James’ marital problems.
Boy and Kris, the supposed hosts of the event, were replaced by ex-“Singing Bee” host Cesar Montano and Concert Queen Pops Fernandez. Both Cesar and Pops extended their support for their fellow Kapamilya.
“I don’t think Kris needs unsolicited advice right now,” said Cesar. “Pero siyempre bilang kaibigan, my prayers and love for Kris.”
Pops, meanwhile, said she can relate to Kris’ situation because she has “been through something like this” with her separation with ex-husband, Concert King Martin Nievera.
“When I went through with the trials [of] my marriage before, mas okay yata na pabayaan muna natin sila na makapag-isip or siguro ayusin muna ‘yung mga problema nila,” she said.
Kris, through a text message sent to another Kapuso showbiz reporter, Lhar Santiago, said that she has chosen to remain quiet on the details of her current marital issues not only to keep her word to brother Noynoy (that she will keep her chatterbox persona away from the spotlight) but more for the sake of her son, Baby James.
"I didn't reveal anything... primarily because I feel it's my duty to protect Baby James since he'll be most affected by my decision. In my heart and conscience I know that my son will understand, respect, and love me when I explain to him when he's old enough to understand what has happened,” her text read.
After her sisters Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Pinky Aquino-Abellada publicly showed their support for Kris, her cousin Mikee Cojuangco also followed suit.
“Bilang pinsan ni Kris, at siyempre ni James, pinagdadasal ko na kung ano ‘yung makakapagpasaya sa kanila, sana maayos nila,” she said on “24 Oras.”
