Lacierda finds Palace job tiring

On his second day as the official Palace mouthpiece, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda on Thursday apologized to the media after missing a scheduled press conference in Malacañang.
“I’d like to say I apologize. It will not happen again,” Lacierda told reporters at the Palace, apparently breaking into his new role as presidential spokesman.
He said it was a sin to break news over one media entity while reporters assigned at the Palace were all waiting for him.
Lacierda agreed that they need to hasten the “learning process” after he found his second day in government “tiring.”
Lacierda was originally scheduled to hold a 10:30 a.m. press conference at the Palace but he was a no-show. No explanation was given to the journalists about the delay of the press conference of the President’s spokesman.
Journalists were eager to interview him about the memorandum circular concerning the status of political appointees and contractual employees as well as the activities of President Aquino.
Lacierda, apparently just staying in his office, was later seen being interviewed in a television network at past 12:30 p.m., ticking off several reporters waiting for his press conference at the Palace. Some reporters complained about his lack of timekeeping and preference for a television station.
A few minutes later, Lacierda went to the press working area and apologized to the journalists.
