The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is set to hold on July 14 the 1st Philippine Energy Efficiency Forum (PEEF) at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City.

With the theme “Enhancing Competitiveness Through Energy Efficiency,” the forum will bring together top government officials and private stakeholders that support the advocacy for more energy efficient industries and companies.

The ECCP expects the PEEF to enlist top management commitment to implement energy efficiency programs at the enterprise level.

The Department of Energy has already confirmed its attendance to the forum.

The PEEF also aims to build strategic alliances among the private sector, government, and international donor organizations, and environmental organizations towards setting a common climate agenda in reducing carbon footprint through energy efficiency.

Expected to attend the PEEF are executives from the appliance, electronic, and equipment; building manufacturers and suppliers; electricity, gas, and oil; and automotive industries.

It is also expected to see the presence of leaders and officials from the academe, environmental associations, financial institutions, foreign embassies, and trade organizations.

The one-day event will also feature a “Technology Showcase” that will feature the latest cutting edge technologies and best practices in energy efficiency.

The PEEF is being sponsored by Philips Electronic & Lighting, First Gen Corp., Manila Electric Co., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Schneider-Electric Philippines.
