Original Penguin recently paid homage to the decade that gave us the retro look with the launch of its Fall 2010 line. Servers sped by on roller skates while Penguin lovers rocked to the tunes of our own fantastic four, the Bloomfields.  What began as an underwear and military supply company over 55 years ago has become an American icon known for delivering old-school style with contemporary twists. The brand took a turn into sportswear with its introduction of its golf shirt and has since grown into a complete lifestyle brand catering to men, women, and, being introduced with this Fall collection, children.

Far from being “just another polo shirt brand” Penguin offers a selection of shoes, watches, and hats. Its insignia is seen on ties, blazers, casual jeans, knitwear, and dresses apart from the well-loved shirts. Retro to the bone, the Fall collection evokes images of stylish picnics in shady parks and block parties on concrete rooftops. Dainty prints and plaids play at the forefront on soft- and neutral-colored solids.

Shoppers with swinging Sixties style now have six locations to choose from for their Penguin fix. From Marquee Mall in Pampanga to SM Mall of Asia, the brand is strategically scattered around the metro. With their different stores across Manila, creative director of Original Penguin Anne Payne shares:  “Our rapid growth in the Philippines illustrates the specific appeal of this authentic American brand, and shows that our particular blend of heritage and vintage style are irresistible to Filipino customers.” And devotees have two more stores to look forward to before the end of the year.

Visit Original Penguin at Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, MarQuee Mall Pampanga, Bonifacio High Street and  Anthem Greenbelt 5. Soon to open at TriNoma, New Port City, Ayala Center Cebu and Davao.
