The Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) has joined hands with BikeKing in staging the TRIKing Long Distance Triathlon which fires off July 25 at Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel (MBRH) in Lian, Batangas.

The event, which marks the start of the long distance racing season in the country, will feature punishing races in varieties of 2 kilometer swim, 60k bike and 15k run.

“Matabungkay played host to triathlon when the sport was in its early stages and we are glad that the Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel through its GM Rico Violeta, is renewing their interest and partnership with TRAP for the future development of the sport using the longer distance event,” Raul Cuevas, TRAP director and BikeKing executive, said.

The race starts with a three-loop swim leg at the rectangular course at the clear waters of Sea Breeze Resort, while the bike leg is a 2-loop race at the National Hi-way towards Calatagan with the hilly portion from the turn-around point in Lian going to Altura Junction as the most challenging part.
