Many cybercitizens are disappointed over the recent result of popular men’s magazine FHM’s annual “sexiest” list.

Surprisingly, the displeasure was not caused by actress Angel Locsin wining over Cristine Reyes for the hotly contested pole position; neither was there any argument on the third [Marian Rivera], fourth [Iwa Moto], fifth [Angelica Panganiban] or even sixth [Katrina Halili] position.

The ruckus is about 40-year old singing diva, Regine Velasquez being ranked 7th on the list—a rung higher than luscious, young starlets Valerie "Bangs" Garcia, Ehra Madrigal, and Jackie Rice.

Rankled fans flooded the popular networking sites Twitter and Facebook with a good number of comments concerning Velasquez’ inclusion on the list; most verging on the profane.

Comments about the topic also made it to various entertainment web sites, blogs and forum sites.

Summit Media, publisher of the magazine, refused to comment on the hot trending topic.

An insider who requested anonymity simply commented that the names that appeared on the list was “voted” by fans and subscribers of the magazine.

He went on to say that like many other lists, the FHM sexiest" list is based on the "popularity" of the star and not solely on "their physical attributes."

"Rules of commerce applies pa rin, bro'," he emphasized.

Velasquez camp has kept mum on the subject.

Meanwhile, singer Ogie Alcasid, Velasquez’ beau, seemed like the lone voice in the wilderness eager to heap praise on his lady love’s recent achievement.

“Congrats to my baba for being 7th sexiest in fhm!,” he tweeted 12:56 PM Jun 29th.
