No vacuum in PSC
The day-to-day operations in the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) remains normal even as the new administration remains tight-lipped on whether it will retain Harry Angping or name a replacement.
“There is no vacuum (in the PSC),” said Commissioner Eric Loretizo on Monday.
Loretizo stressed that the PSC continues to perform its functions even though the fate of the chairman and his fellow commissioners remain in the balance what with Malacanang still unable to make appointments.
The agency continues to function that the board is even set to meet today, stressed Loretizo, who nevertheless bared that “they are all ready to leave as soon as their replacement reports for work.”
The designated officer-in-charge of the PSC is chief accountant Merle Ibay, who, however, was tight-lipped about her role as caretaker.
Ibay is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the PSC pending official word from Malacañang.
“Her job is mostly administrative,” added Loretizo.
Shortly after President Noynoy Aquino took his oath, Malacanang released a circular to all government agencies, advising their respective heads to vacate their posts.
