New LTO chief, 10 other execs named
MANILA (PNA) — President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III appointed a new chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and 10 other officials on Thursday.
President Aquino named Miss Virgie Torres as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) who will also head the LTO.
Aquino also appointed Atty. Jose Amor Amorado as senior deputy executive secretary; Atty. Ericson Alcovendaz, assistant executive secretary for finance and administration and officer in charge of the deputy executive secretary for finance and administration; Atty. Ronaldo Geron as assistant executive secretary for legal affairs and officer in charge as deputy executive secretary for legal affairs office; Atty. Teofilo Pilando Jr. as assistant secretary for government administration and officer in charge as deputy executive secretary for government administration.
Atty. Michael Frederick Musngi as undersecretary at the office of the executive secretary; Ms. Maria Lourdes Ong as presidential assistant 1 with the rank of undersecretary of the office of special assistant to the President; Miss Susan Reyes as assistant executive secretary for socials of the Executive Secretary’s office; Mr. Eric Gosengfiao as deputy director-general of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).
The newly appointed officials, together with newly appointed Undersecretary for Peace and Order Rico E. Puno of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and newly appointed Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) chief retired Major General Jose Angel Honrado, will take their oath of office before President Aquino in a simple ceremony in Malacanang Thursday afternoon.
