Raid on shabu laboratory yields P100-million illegal drugs
Anti-narcotics agents of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Manila Police District (MPD) raided a suspected kitchen-type shabu laboratory run by at least five foreign nationals in Manila's Sta. Ana District and seized some P100 million worth of illegal drugs last Thursday evening.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 21 Judge Amor Reyes, joint operatives of NCRPO and MPD raided the house at Unit 63, Eurovilla Homes, 2100 New Panaderos St., Sta. Ana, Manila at 10:00 p.m., Thursday and arrested five persons.
Arrested were Ming Yuan Yuet, Danny Tan, Aga Co, Eugene Go and Michelle Lee, 24.
Law enforcers confiscated some 20 kilograms of methampethamine hydrochloride or shabu which has a street value of P100 million.
Policemen also seized six self-sealed plastic bags of brown capsules, 14 500ml bottles of Glucose injection, two sets of rubber tubing, 10 assorted glass laboratory apparatus, one telescopic adjustable heater, one washing machine/dryer, two electronic weighing scales (Tanita and CEC); and P20,000 cash.
According to NCRPO director Roberto Rosales, the raid was conducted as a follow-up of the successful discovery of a shabu laboratory in Taguig City last March 25.
“They may be members of a big drug-syndicate operating in Manila,” Rosales told the Manila Bulletin in a telephone interview.
Initially, anti-narcotics agents of NCRPO arrested only three suspects when they barged inside the townhouse that was being rented by Lim for almost nine years now.
But then two more suspects arrived at the suspected shabu laboratory while the police was there.
The suspects will be charged with Violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and other Paraphernalia) Article 2, RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) before the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
