Ricky Carandang, an ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) anchor, has resigned from the network.

abs-cbnNEWS.com reports that Carandang submitted his resignation on Friday, July 09, 2010.

This was apparently to give way to his acceptance of the offer to be part of President Noynoy Aquino's communications team.

Meanwhile, ANC has released a statement saying that "the ANC Management accepted the resignation of Anchor Ricky Carandang, which he submitted Friday, July 9 2010."
