Rap and pop continue to be the big winners of this week’s music charts, as Eminem and Katy Perry hold on to their respective top positions in the Billboard music charts.

In the Billboard 200, Eminem’s latest album “Recovery” is still going strong, as it moves 313,000 units, making it the number one album for the second straight week. Eminem's latest set has already sold 1.1 million copies in just two weeks in the US alone. Eminem likewise tops the Digital Songs chart for the second straight week, with the single “Love The Way You Lie” (featuring Rihanna)—selling 280,000 downloads.

Meanwhile the hottest song in the US this summer is still “Calfornia Gurls” by Katy Perry. This is Perry’s fifth straight week at the number one spot in the singles chart. Eminem is at a close second with “Love The Way You Lie.”

Usher, who recently rocked Manila, maintains his #3 position with “OMG.” Likewise, “Airplanes” by B.o.B and “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy retain their chart standing at four and five, respectively.

Newcomer Mike Posner with his introductory hit “Cooler Than Me” is up by a notch from number seven to six. Taio Cruz is back in the singles chart with a new track called “Dynamite,” which explodes from number fourteen to number seven. Drake, meanwhile, slides down two notches to number eight.

Jason Derulo improves and climbs up a rung to number nine with “Ridin’ Solo” and finally, Eminem closes this week’s rundown of the hottest songs with the re-entry of “Not Afraid” in the singles chart at number ten.
