Ochoa bares ‘shocking’ discovery about Malacañang
Not the alleged anomalies of the Arroyo administration, but the beautiful kitchen at the Malacañang Palace is so far the biggest surprise to the more than a week old Aquino administration, Executive Secretary Paquito “Jojo” Ochoa said.
“Maganda pala (It's really beautiful),” Ochoa said, in jest during a dinner with newsmen covering Malacañang last Thursday when asked what “shocking” discovery he has so far about the previous administration.
“There have been previous suspicions, previous hype from the media about supposed anomalous transactions but still we don’t want to come up with something we cannot support,” he said.
“That’s another thing. I told you that as a lawyer, it is important that we don’t say something or accuse someone unfairly without enough evidence or facts. It's difficult in the sense that you have to push the right button, talk to right people so you could understand and correct the situation,” Ochoa said.
Ochoa said it is important that they get facts not just opinions about the issues.
“Sometimes rather than give out facts, they are telling their opinion. What we need is hard evidence, especially in government,” Ochoa explained.
