Typhoon "Basyang" made its anticipated landfall Tuesday night, damaging signages and uprooting trees in Quezon City and Marikina.

At the height of the onslaught, Basyang sent a billboard along EDSA near Trinoma mall toppling down on an owner-type jeep.

The billboard also caused a high-tension wire to dangle precariously along a very busy road.

The strong winds, which were accompanied by pockets of strong rainfall, also caused flooding in major thoroughfares in Quezon City, affecting commuters and motorists on their way home.

In Marikina City, a signage also fell while a tree fell down along Oriol Street.

The tree fell on the road, causing traffic to build up. Trees also fell along FVR Road, Shaw Avenue, and Father Manalo Street in Barangay Sto. Nino in Marikina.

Weather experts from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicted that Basyang will leave the country on Wednesday.
