Dealers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will roll back their prices by another 50 centavos next week and then by another 50 centavos the week after that, according to the LPG Marketers' Association (LPGMA).

LPGMA President Arnel Ty, also the group's first nominee for its party list seat at the House of Representatives, said the forthcoming P1 rollback in prices will be effected in the next two weeks to complete the P2 rollback per month that members of their group plan to give to consumers.

Dealers had rolled back their prices by 50 centavos twice this month, and the additional P1 rollback will complete the P2 rollback that Ty said reflects the downward trend of LPG in the world market.

The rollbacks will bring the prices of LPG from P548 for an 11-kg tank to P542 next week, then down to P536 by the fourth week of July.

Ty said rollbacks are expected to be effected up to August based on the downward trend of LPG prices in the world market.

LPGMA is among the party-list groups that have won seats in Congress but have yet to be proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) because there are pending disqualification cases against these party list groups or their nominees.

Representatives of these party-list groups that have yet to be proclaimed by Comelec held a press conference in Quezon City on Friday to call on Comelec to decide on the disqualification cases before Congress starts its session on July 26.

They said their groups had already been approved to run in the elections and had already won, thus, those seeking their disqualification should file their complaints before the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET).
